Every company in the world that either has made or currently makes motorcycles has also produced scooters. Harley-Davidson even produced a scooter for a while, though they don't seem especially proud of that fact. The biggest players in the world scooter market are still Honda, Yamaha and Piaggio (which produces Vespa). As exists in many industries, there has developed a tendency among some scooter makers, especially when first getting started, of copying popular designs from better known companies, giving rise to the clone scooters.

How fast can scooters go?
In spite of common myth, scooters are not slow by design, unless they are also speed-restricted mopeds. It is very common now for Vespa and Lambretta scooters to exceed 100mph on racetracks. Many scooters without modification will go over 70mph and speed varies widely depending on various aspects like engine size, exhaust flow, gear ratios, etc.

Which is the range of a typical electric scooter?
Range that electric scooters can travel varies. Some electric scooters only obtain near 6 miles in a load of the battery. Others scooters can rise to 30 miles on a battery. Range depends on the type and size of the battery along with the size of the scooter, the weight, and the condition of the wheel.

How quickly can electric scooters travel?
Most electric scooters can travel up to about 10 to 15 miles per hour. Most people do not want to travel on a scooter that moves too fast or too slow. Select the type of scooter based on your goals and the preferences for riding.

Don't the small wheels on scooters make them unsafe?
No. Smaller wheels result in greater handling responsiveness, which can keep the scooterist out of trouble more readily. Scooters simply manoeuvre more easily than motorcycles generally. While it's true that smaller wheels are more vulnerable to getting caught by large potholes, you should also know that those same smaller wheels result in more lower end torque, which will more readily pull you out of that same pothole. Likewise, the smaller wheels on scooters help when cornering, as there is not the need to slide the back wheel as on motorcycles and there is less gyroscopic effect. Lastly, you'll find smaller wheels noticeably cheaper to replace.
